Who is Richard Rinaolo

How does he get away with it?  Ever heard of Richard Rinaolo?  He is a seemingly upright citizen that lives in Lake Forest, IL; a beautiful, exceedingly wealthy hamlet 45 minutes north of downtown Chicago.  He has a wife and children, and attends St. Mary’s Catholic Church regularly every Sunday morning.  All seems well until you begin to dig.  There you find innumerable women, crime, debauchery, and a subversive culture.

Richard Rinaolo is charming, one of those men who can make almost anyone like him.  He is deadly with this skill, navigating a host of women through his life so expertly that he maintains the aura of an almost-saint.  Fifty years ago this wouldn’t have been so notable, but with the change in cultural acceptance of extramarital pandering few men lead such a successful secret life.  Over the years there have been a few narrow escapes with threats of sexual misconduct but nothing that Rinaolo couldn’t overcome with his formidable charm.  Rinaolo was recently involved in a love affair that lasted four years.  The woman was his business partner and there is some suspicion that she may have also been his partners in crime.  Her background is clear until she met him so she may simply have been one of his victims.  Either way, he managed to live with her for years as they traveled across the U.S., starting one business after the other and leaving behind a trail of customers that got, “ripped off.”

Where was his wife?  Is she involved in his crimes as well? Her name is Beth Larson Rinaolo; they met at the University of Chicago and she looks like the ordinary desperate housewife trying to keep it together for hubby while he cavorts and defrauds to keep her in the ivory tower.  But, could she actually be involved?  She has lied pretty effectively for him to the authorities on several occasions.  It is impossible not to questions the motivations of a woman who protects a man who is a fugitive from the law.

Richard Rinaolo has owned several companies in the past 5 years that have all been shut down amidst accusations of fraud.  He has managed to escape continually by throwing the light on others and straightening his halo.  At Fidelity Reconstruction he met Saint Claire, his most recent woman, and hired her to develop a business idea for him.  A former employee tells us that, at one point in the fledgling company, she approached Saint Claire and informed her that Rinaolo was taking 10K weekly from the account, that it was endangering the business.  Saint Claire seemed angry and concerned, she promised to set things straight.  According to the same former employee, this began Rinaolo’s powerful seduction campaign of Saint Claire, nothing was ever done about the money, and the company crashed leaving angry customers and owing over $100,000.00
Since this Richard Rinaolo has been arrested for fraud, theft, identity theft, burglary, and most recently theft of service.  But he seems to get away with it all.  He has filed for bankruptcy twice.  He lives in a house he manages to keep in foreclosure but never has been taken away from him.  He is currently running a business from his home that offers the same service that he did at Fidelity Reconstruction but it does not seem to be licensed or registered anywhere.  When are they going to catch this guy?

  1. Wow! I can't believe this guy is getting away with this. What has our justice system come to? I looked up all the links you provided on this Richard Rinaolo and did some extra digging of my own, here in town, and it seems like he's been doing some of the same stuff he did in Texas here in the last year. He also seems to have started some real-estate scam called NSPV Ventures Fund recently, but there's no such business registered anywhere. Food for thought...

  2. OMG! This is the Richard Rinaolo who took my money in Shreveport Louisiana. He said that he was a licensed adjuster (He lied). When they law ran him off he went to OKC and stole a bunch of money from people there. I remember when I saw it on the news. My sister works with a guy who worked for him he is a complete fraud and used his girlfriend like a tool. I hope they throw his ass in jail and never let him out.

  7. Heads up! NSPV Fund, NSPV Ventures Fund, is a scam too. It is a nonexistent shell to cover up what Rinaolo is really doing. I have tried to call his house to ask Beth Rinaolo what he does for work but, no answer. Surprise.

  8. Richard Rinaolo (aka Richard Thomas)

    And

Shel St Clair (aka Shel St Pankau or Michel Bennett)

Are both sitting in Cook County lockup, (jail) she cannot get bail, he cannot pay his.

They are going to trial April 15, 2013, and all victims are welcome
They will be in Judge Howard E. Garritt's court 206 in the morning
Please feel free to write Judge Garritt or The Cook County District Attorney Edward McCarty

    Honorable Garritt E Howard
    Cook County Circuit Court
    5600 Old Orchard Road
    Skokie, Illinois 60607
    (847) 470-7200

Or the District Attorney at the same switchboard number and same address

If you live in Louisiana, and these two have stolen from you in one of their scams, not paid salary, or not paid the rent while running their scams...please contact the Louisiana District Attorney ASAP in the hope of being repaid...but do this soon

So many have been hurt, financially and seriously damaged by these two crooks...it's time for justice...or they will continue stealing from people

  10. The family covers for him and even his siblings have been involved in scheming people. They attempt to come across as hard working ethical and independent, this is how they try to throw people off. . My experience with this family has been that any money or assets that they have are from literally from diving into a new friend's wallet, acting as if they are completely self sufficient. I know them from Sparta , they are able to attract their victims. The acting game starts and within the timeframes of the relationship and the victims walk away from relationships with substantial holes in their pockets.

  13. Well, for an old original article, many still choose to comment on the countless injustices from this family. Note: not his wife or children but rather siblings and father. In any event, i was scamed a tremendous amount of money, basically stollen from my children from his sister. I am interested in recovery of lost funds.

  16. This Rinaolo family believes that rules do not apply to them. The sister is only steps behind Richard in terms of immortality. She has spent her adult life having multiple affairs with married men. I feel badly for his wife and children. I would imagine that she divorced him.

  17. He seems to be flooding the internet with fake profiles, perhaps in an attempt to "clean" up his online presence. I grew up with him in NJ and his family is bizarre to say the least.
